Many new faces in the Anti-Karaoke of Monday September 14th.
This evening's show had more variety than usual, which is always exciting.
Rachel began the night on an intimate note, with a lovely version of About a Girl by Nirvana.
Such a beginning contrasted with a brutal Killing In The Name, interpreted three hours later on the same stage by Rachel with Redd Kross Contingent.
But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves...
Los Sospechosos debuted this evening and the truth is that their Jump Around was one of the most exciting moments of the night.
Another great moment of the show was the explosive duet between Dani Metal and Albert The Undertaker with The Trooper.
There are no words to describe it, other than it was simply enormous.
Angels debuted with a beautiful version of Angie by the Stones.
Kat one of Bon Jovi's quintessential hits, Livin On A Prayer.
It's always a pleasure to see Pauli onstage at A.K.
After an absence of several months, Pauli returned to interpret Joan Jett's Crimson and Clover with her habitual charisma.
Roser impressed the audience with a simply spectacular performance of The Cult's Fire Woman.
She-Wolf sang for the first time in the show: Cabaret.
A very fun performance by a pair of debutantes, Mikus Van Der Merde, who gave it their all with a hilarious Gay Bar by Electric Six.
Andres also debuted in Anti-Karaoke, putting a punky touch on the evening with a crazed performance of Too Drunk To Fuck by The Dead Kennedys.
And more debutantes: Thunder Mat overflowed with enthusiasmo in his version of AC/DC's You Shook Me All Night Long.
Third Eye chose Iron Maiden's Run To The Hills for his first time onstage at A.K., and succeeded in rousing the audience.
Rachel sang nothing other than Smoke On The Water by Deep Purple in the first half of the show.
Stinson, who we've seen once in a while in the show, returned to sing Bullet With Butterfly Wings by Smashing Pumpkins.
Lady Mouth interpreted one of the quintessential standards of the show, Sweet Child OMine by Guns NRoses.
Incredible version of Oasis's Dont Look Back In Anger in the capable hands of Madskoti.
The only other person who's ever interpreted this song in the show is Rocko, who also gave a great performance.
An old from of A.K., Teddy, who a while back returned to his homeland of USA, rendered tribute to Ozzy with an absolutely schizoid performance of Crazy Train.
Rachel covered the front rows with whipped cream while singing Video Killed The Radio Star.
Barbarah brought us the most touching moment of the night with her performance of Johnny Cash's version of NIN's Hurt.
And continuing the intimate tone, El Chico Warming sang the great Chris Isaak classic, Wicked Game.
Mazafaka offered rage and attitude with his version of Its So Easy by Guns NRoses, one of the definitive songs from the Appetite For Destruction album.
Blimunda got the audience in the palm of her hand by singing another great classic from the A.K. repertoire: Metallica's Enter Sandman.
It's impossible to imagine A.K. without New York, New York and Jack Daniels raining over the first few rows. Once again, Rachel baptized the Anti-Karaoke faithful while singing about the City That Never Sleeps.
Txus invoked the spirit of Jim Morrison with People Are Strange by The Doors.
Whenever Ennio performs in A.K., he brings the house down. This time was no exception.
His Devil Inside by INXS received one of the biggest ovations of the night.
The always charming Señor Gayumbo returned to sing Song 2 by Blur.
Halfway through the show, we heard over the P.A.: Ladies and gentlemen... Sally, the Schizophrenic Goth Girl! There appeared Rachel dressed up goth style with a facial expression of infinite agony, while Marilyn Manson's Man That You Fear sounded in the background.
She then ordered the audience to chant Life is shit. But as soon as the beginning notes sounded of The Proclaimers' Im Gonna Be (500 Miles), her emotional state suddenly changed and she sang, danced and laughed with the audience... only to return to her former, hellish personality once the song ended. Life is not easy for a Goth Girl.
That night we also heard: Satisfaction by The Rolling Stones (Danglam),
I Was Made For Loving You by Kiss (Prades),
Highway To Hell by AC/DC (Lord Vader),
Thunderstruck by AC/DC (Redd Kross Contingent),
Thunder Kiss 65 by White Zombie (Samurai Xavi),
Fucking Hostile by Pantera (Iván),
The Pretender by Foo Fighters (Pirata del Caribe),
Rebel Yell by Billy Idol (Kenta),
and Ace Of Spades by Motörhead (Sarduster).
The night came to a close, as we commented at the beginning, with a devastating performance of Killing In The Name by Rachel and Redd Kross Contingent.
Fabri and dozens of audience members sowed the seeds of chaos with a savage Cowboys From Hell by Pantera.
And with Kids In America, another great show came to a close.
See you next Monday at Anti-Karaoke!
